Brophy College Preparatory, Phoenix, Arizona, June 2011 – June 2016

Was initially hired by Brophy as a faculty member in the Fine Arts Department, and Assistant Coach of the Varsity Soccer team. Since then, I wrote a grant to bring 3D printing to campus, and developed an Art & Technology class class based on ideas surrounding the ‘Maker Movement’, which looks to empower students with skills of coding, CAD, and circuitry. The popularity of the class resulted in the school renovating its 11,000 sf library to make way for a maker space with laser cutters, CNC router, 3D printers, to helps students make just about anything. The space sees over 200 students move through it daily. Additionally, this is my 3rd season as the Head Varsity Soccer Coach.

The Construction Zone, Phoenix, Arizona, June 2010 – June 2011

Worked as a Construction Manager for the Desert Courtyard House, designed by Wendell Burnette. The day to day tasks were to manage the construction site, mediate between designers, fabricators, and workers, as well as create shop drawings. In certain instances, some minor construction work was also done. The house was on its 7th year of construction, and the job was nearing completion when I left the company.

Ayers Saint Gross, Architects + Planners, Tempe, ArizonaIntern Architect, June 2007 – May 2009

Worked as an intern architect for nearly two years with the firm. Used a variety of programs and worked on projects from campus planning at NAU to a museum in Saudi Arabia. Based out of Baltimore, the firm opened a Tempe office in 2004. I spent one summer working out of the DC office on the Saudi Arabia museum project and the rest of the time in the Phoenix office. Responsibilities included site visits, CAD/Revit drafting, planning, graphic design, marketing, and more. Recently laid off due to the economic situation of the firm.

Jorge Mario Jauregui, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Intern, Summer 2005

Was one of a handful of interns working in the office for the summer. Most of the projects dealt with the favelas of Rio, rehabilitating these poor communities through modern urbanization projects. Responsibilities included site visits, sketches and CAD work, model building, and translation. This was a unique work environment, as the office spoke 4 different languages on a daily basis.
